a. What made those relationships special?

M: She trusted Tanya. She was willing to hear Tanya out and take recommended actions as well as believe when I gave her statements of: you’re brave, I acknowledge your feelings, you’re doing a great job, she was able to accept positive things about herself.

W: She didn’t trust anyone, but Tanya still stuck with her until she was finally able to trust her. Tanya doesn’t give up on them even if they aren’t ready for help or support. At the end, she realized how much Tanya helped her.

b. What did you do as a service provider that made those clients happy?

M: Tanya is very empathetic. Always showed empathy, no judgement. She was very accessible. She really wants that with her clients. They can communicate with her and she will get back with them.

W: Tanya would meet with her when she was going through difficult times or trauma and kind of let her talk and listen. Provided her with supports in real time. Mainly being there when she needed.

c. What would those clients say you do better than others they’ve worked with?

M: She believes in them, she supports them, and she holds their hand from the beginning to the end. There is constant support. It’s not just here and there. They feel like they are not alone, but have someone walking with them hand in hand through the whole thing.

W: Just sticking with them and not giving up on them, especially when they decided to keep going back to the abuse. She understands that that’s normal and there’s no telling them what to do. They are the expert of their own lives and they know what’s safe to do and what’s not safe to do.

d. What would those clients say is special or unique about you?

M: always says that she always holds space for her. Thank you for holding space for me. Making them realize that they are important and are important to her and that Tanya will take whatever time is necessary to connect with them and offer them support.
